National Livestock Mission (NLM)

The Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Government of India has implemented the National Livestock Campaign Scheme.
The objectives of the scheme are to generate employment, increase productivity per animal, develop entrepreneurs to create forward and backward linkages, increase production of goat milk, eggs and wool.
Also, the objective of the scheme is to create employment through entrepreneurship development in goat rearing, sheep rearing, poultry rearing, Silage production, fodder production to promote the establishment of processing units and to reduce the demand supply gap.
Capital subsidy up to 50% of subsidy limit for all schemes is disbursed directly to beneficiary accounts through Small Development Bank of India (SIDBI) in two equal instalments.

Eligibility –

  • Minimum 20+1 and maximum 500+25 Goats
  • Minimum 50% Project Cost Loan required

Project Cost-

    5 lakh – 85 lakhs

Subsidy –

  • 25% Subsidy as per project norms for Male, Co-op. ,Company, Partnership 33% for SC,ST applicants
